Los Angeles-based singer, producer, and songwriter Anthony Russo introduced his smooth blend of low-key electronic, sleek dance-pop and playful romantic ballads in the latter half of the 2010s. A prolific artist, he built up a hefty catalog of singles and EPs including 2017’s streaming hit “California” and “Rewind,” featuring G-Eazy. At the turn of the decade, he offered some longer projects like 2020’s Dear You and 2021’s Blue. Russo began his career in his native St. Louis, uploading songs like “Fix Me Up” and “Cheatta” to SoundCloud and racking up significant streams. Seeking a more collaborative atmosphere, he eventually relocated to L.A. With his mix of rapped and sung vocals, he began to establish himself in 2016 with a prolific run of singles like “Cobra,” “Caught Up,” and “Ghost Stories.” Russo returned in 2017 with “Wanted Man,” “Fancy,” and the sunny “California.” He spent 2018 in the same fashion, issuing half-a-dozen singles, including “Rewind” with G-Eazy. Continuing his prolific streak, Russo released another flurry of singles in 2019, including “It’s a Risk” and “More Than You Know,” the latter of which featured Pink Slip. Heading into the next decade, Russo kept up his prolific pace, issuing the 2020 EP Dear You, along with further singles like “Typical” and “Nobody to Love.” Another barrage of 2021 singles culminated in the release of the eight-song project Blue. The single “Blindside” appeared later that year.
