Independent Bar & Kitchen, 2712 Main Street

Having established recently in the year 2016, the Independent Bar & Kitchen (IBK) has gained momentum in attracting Deep Ellum customers. This urban-rustic eatery offers European cuisine food. As the name suggests, IBK is equipped with a kitchen and a bar with a unique range of crafted beers, spirits, and wines in Europe, especially.

The European menu includes Bangers and Mash, Mussel Frites, Rabbit with Papadelle, Sheppard’s Pie, and Fish & Chips. In addition to European cuisine, the restaurant offers a good range of American recipes. It is one of the restaurants at Deep Ellum that has reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food and drinks.

  • European cuisine food.
  • Unique range of crafted beers.
  • Best American recipes.
  • Great fried pickles.
  • The beer selections are quite great.

The fried pickles are the most demanding food liked by all of its customers. The pasta with salmon, scotch eggs, fish and chips, soft pretzels, caesar salad shall not leave your mouth-watered. The beer selections are quite great and exclusive.

IBK is praised for its ever cleanliness. It is completely a non-smoking zone inside the restaurant premises. The music is always on and does not expect this to be a Sports bar. If you gotta enjoy your beer, you can either choose the dining or the bar lounge.

There is a Regal Room offering private dining and events space located in the back of the IBK. The private area is colossal and perfect for celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries—hats off to the absolutely cool ambiance and humble waiters.

The sedative specialty of IBK is their weekly specials, similar to happy hours. We love this place!! Randomly walked in and we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and great service. We split the brisket nachos and they were delicious!! Didn’t need anything more than that, but the rest of the menu had great options. Snuck a look at other tables and all their orders looked fantastic. Kudos to our server Natalie who was so friendly and gave the hubs some stellar beer recommendations. She was so enthusiastic about the restaurant and encouraged us to come back later for the dj, dancing, and other fun shenanigans that happen here on the weekends. Apparently they have killer brunch, too! We will definitely be back.
