The Monkey King Of Deep Ellum

Monkey King Noodle Company is a Deep Ellum restaurant offering authentic Northern Chinese street food. The place began its operation in the heart of Deep Ellum in 2013, with the hand-pulled noodles being one of its specialties.

One of the owners of the Monkey King Noodle, Andrew Chen, noticed that Deep Ellum lacks authentic Chinese food dining options. So Chen decided to master the art of noodle-making. And for about a month, he went through rigorous training every day. Finally, all his hard work paid off when he found the hacks on how to make the perfect noodles.

Even with the massive success of Monkey King Noodle, Chen remains its chief noodle maker to this date. He also creates everything from scratch and has a reputation for being a semi-superstar of noodle-making. Likewise, if you want to see him in action, simply peek through the kitchen’s front window.

What sets the Chinese diner apart from competitors is the authenticity of its foods. Its owners incorporate their food journey in China and Taiwan’s night markets on each of their dishes. Moreover, Chen wants to focus on serving the best street food. The kind of dishes that he always craves for after a night of drinking session in Taipei. Plus, to stay true to these memories, they create meals to order, from the hand-pulled noodles to their soup dumplings.

The hipster Chinese foods of Monkey King Noodle Company are made from fresh ingredients. Additionally, rich and deep spices are present to awaken your senses and keep you coming back for more. And aside from Chen’s magical hands, the secret to their specialty hand-pulled noodles is its broth. You have a choice between spicy beef or savory chicken.

Another item on their menu that your taste buds will love is their steamed wontons and dumplings. The unique feature of this outstanding dish is its ample serving size. Other must-try dishes include the Monkey King Experience, Soup Dumplings, and Dan Dan Noodles. If you’re looking to spice up your dining experience, make sure to order the Mknc Spicy Cucumbers or Chili Wontons.

Monkey King Noodle does not accept reservations. However, they accept large groups of people, and parking is on the street. Their opening times are Mondays to Saturdays from 11 AM to 10 PM and on Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM.
