Pepe’s is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Dallas. I’ve gone for a number of years and the quality remains consistently great. Also, the service is always friendly as well. My favorite dish is Tacos Norteñas and they are absolutely incredible. Perfectly seared and flavored as well. And nd easily the best tacos I’ve ever had. I also love their albondigas soup. It’s not too common on Mexican restaurant menus. However it’s a classic dish that is always worth adding to a meal. – Mark H., Durham, NC, Yelp

Pepe & Mito’s Mexican Cafe & Cantina

Pepe & Mito’s is a vibrant Deep Ellum restaurant with a rustic ambiance. The place is popular for serving delicious Tex-Med classics, including fajitas, chicken mole enchiladas, and tacos al pastor.

But your experience at the cafe will not be complete if you will not try their specialty, albondiga soup. This comforting bowl of soup is a blend of savory meat patties, vegetables, and fragrant broth. And it’s so good that even Guy Fieri slurps it with so much pleasure.

It’s Tex-Mex!

Pepe and Mito's

The Rojas family owned Pepe and Mito’s and they’ve been serving the Dallas area with sumptuous Tex-Mex dishes since 1994. Most of their recipes have been with the family for generations. Likewise, its owner, Chef Pedro Rojas, added his unique style to the dishes to give the family classics a new twist.

One of the best things about visiting Pepe & Mito’s is the outstanding hospitality the entire staff provides. In fact, they don’t even allow their customers to wait for a long period. Hence, they quickly seat them. Additionally, the staff offers diners a welcome combo, which is crispy homemade chips and salsa. Also, the restaurant has plenty of specialties on their menu.

Pepe & Mito’s Legendary Tacos Norteños, Chipotle Wine Sauce, And More

On top of their must-try dishes is the Beef Tacos Norteños. This will surely make you loco, as they slather it with their divine chipotle wine sauce.

It was so good that the Food Network notices it. Because of this, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives featured it together with the Albondiga Soup in one of their episodes.

Moreover, the signature sauce is one of the cafe’s secret ingredients. It adds unbelievable value and that distinct taste to their dishes. They make it by combining wine with dry chipotle peppers and fresh cream. Plus, the best thing about this popular sauce is that you can have it with everything on the menu.

But what makes the cafe cantina truly stand out is their use of fresh ingredients as much as possible. Furthermore, they make it a point to provide their customers with top-notch services.

Other specialties you need to try are Beef Enchiladas, Chipotle Shrimp, and Pescado Vera Cruz. And if you want to chill at night, order the very potent margarita, and head on to the comfortable patio. Take our advice, it’s an amazing way to spend the evening.
