The Blue Light Dallas: Relive The Americana Spirit

If you’re looking for a Deep Ellum bar that provides good service and good vibes, you need to check out the Blue Light Dallas. It’s a combination of cold spirits, comfort food, and Americana music.

You can find it between Stirr and Harlowe right in the heart of the Deep Ellum district of Downtown Dallas. It’s a partnership with the Blue Light Live, the famous Lubbock red dirt spot. The place paved the way to iconic acts in Texas, such as Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott, Flatland Cavalry, William Clark Green, and so much more.

The Familiar Feel

Blue Light Deep Ellum is a 21+ venue with a size of about 5,000 square feet and boasts a massive 400-person capacity.

Blue Light DallasAnd if you’ve been to its Lubbock-based counterpart, you’ll find some recognizable touches here as well as some upgrades that you’ll surely appreciate. The owners also include familiar elements such as the awesome mural of Coca-Cola above the bar.

Furthermore, they incorporated it with the landscape mural of Palo Duro right next to the bathrooms, which is done by Bristen Philips, No Dry Country’s guitarist.

Additionally, they brought Lubbock city’s signature drinks on the menu, the habanero-infused burn shots, frozen Call-A-Cab daiquiris, and Chiltons. Everything else is simple to ensure a smooth and speedy service.

This is not just your ordinary bar. It focuses more on music and as a live music venue. And what sets the Blue Light Dallas apart from neighboring spots? Well, they offer unique experiences like songwriter nights.

You can also expect a constant flow of performance here from both locals and touring acts regularly.

Standard Hours of Operation:

  • Monday, Wednesday to Saturday: 6PM to 2AM
  • They are open on Tuesdays and Sundays if there’s a show on schedule.

How To Purchase A Ticket

Simply visit their official website and make your way to the menu and click the Calendar tab. You can then browse the upcoming shows under their Concert Calendar and click Tickets of the show, event, or artist you’re interested in. A pop-up window will appear where you can find tickets.

Afterward, you can purchase up to 10 tickets at a time. It is advisable to buy your tickets in advance to guarantee entry. Nonetheless, you do have an option to pay cash at the door on the day of the show. And don’t worry about running out of cash, they have an ATM.


How To Reserve A Table Or VIP Seating At The Blue Light Dallas

Blue Light DallasKeep in mind that all their tickets are General Admission, which means it’s standing room only. However, there are available barstool seating throughout the venue on a first-come-first-served basis.

You can reserve tables through the following:

  1. Purchase a ticket first through their Concert Calendar or at perikindle.com.
  2. Email the name on the ticket and the number of seats you want to request at Marc@thebluelightdallas.com. But a little warning, they’ll frown on you if upon arrival you’ll have last-minute add-ons. They want to be as fair as possible to other paying customers.
  3. Cut off time for purchasing tables is 7 PM the day of the show.
  4. All non-reserved tables are first come first served.

Reserved tables seat a maximum of 4 guests only and do not include the General Admission tickets. You and your guest can only sit at the purchased Reserved Seating if every one of you has a GA ticket. They also require a $25 minimum spend for every seat reserved.

Also, if you’re over the maximum allowed guest, you need to purchase an additional Reserved Seating Table. Otherwise, they’ll either push the tables together or set it next to each other to ensure all guests can sit together. They have a no refund policy, 48 hours before the show.


The “Way Fun Area”

Their VIP seating, known as the “Way Fun Area,” will provide you with the best experience. It does require a minimum spend of $300 before tax and 20% gratuity, but it’s right next to stage left, allowing you to fully enjoy the show. In fact, it’s the closest distance that the state of Texas allows.

The $300 minimum does include a bottle of your chosen spirit and mixers, as well as a beer bucket, some beef jerky, and assorted chewing gum.
